Katie Unger graduated in 2008 with her Bachelors degree in Science and Social Work. She has been working with The Play Clinic since 2022 and completed her MSW in 2024.

Katie is a lifelong learner.  Katie is a certified play therapist (CPT) wiht the Canadian Association of Play Theray. She has 13+ years experience in supportive counselling with women and children; affected by domestic violence, homelessness, trauma, family breakdown and mental health issues.

• Certified Play Therapist

• Parts Work in Play (Internal Family Systems Informed)

• Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), level 1

• Theraplay, level 1 (currently completing)

• Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) certification

In her spare time, you will find her embracing the chaos and joy that comes with raising 3 young children alongside her husband. To unwind and recharge she enjoys hot coffee, and the creative experience of crocheting items for loved ones.
